This is especially useful when adjusting a ZEISS CP.2 line lens for use on a DSLR camera after the lens mount has been converted from PL to another type (such as EF) or vice versa. Please print this chart with a very high printing resolution (600 dpi). Please observe the additional pdf guide 'Using the Siemens star target'. I thought about using something similar to a bahtinov mask or this chart ( ) however about the former most of my subjects aren't point light sources (and also focal lengths are too short). The Zeiss Siemens star test chart is and professional lens chart that has been used for decades to align the focus on lenses on individual cameras. Using this calibration chart helps to perfectly focus an optical camera system and to check and balance the image brightness. I've tried a Siemens star ( ) however after reaching a certain degree of focus precision, I can still slightly rotate the focus ring left and right without being able to tell a difference or which ring position yields a better focus. Hello, I have a low-end DSLR without lens/body fine-tuning so while autofocus is ok most of the times, sometimes I have to use manual focus since it is more accurate, however even if I use LCD liveview to magnify the view (the viewfinder is usually smaller and less accurate unless the subject fills the frame), I can't always tell if things are in perfect focus or should rotate the ring more or less, so I thought about printing a pattern chart and put it on the subject to precisely focus on it.
